As a Ram fan since 1973 I can't
express enough what a thrill it was to meet you at your book signing Friday
night. I remember your time with the LA Rams very well. I always felt you were
better than a number of players that played ahead of you..., Carl Ekern, Bob
Brudzinski, Mel Owens and others. It was clear to me then you should have been a
starter.
If you had played in the era of free agency, your star would have shone very
brightly. You could have picked an chosen an organization that fit your skill
set. On the right team a "Greg Lloyd" impact would have been the result.
Pro-Bowls and big money would have followed. Even locked into the limitations of
the system and time in which you played you made big plays and huge
contributions each time you were on the field. For true Rams fans such as
myself, your star will always shine very brightly.....
Thank your for the book,
Brian Elliott |

Congratulations Joe on your
present and pass success. "Bookie" Melvin shared your site, just wanted to say
stay encouraged and best wishes.
"To be really rich does not mean to be satisfied or contented with a little. No
one ought to be satisfied with a little if he is capable of using and enjoying
more. The purpose of nature is the advancement and enfoldment of life, and
everyone should have all that can contribute to the power, elegance, beauty and
richness of life. To be content with less is sinful." |

Hello Mr. Harris,
This is a GREAT website. I am a Golden Bull from the class of 83. You came and
talked to us at Smith and you gave me your autograph. I hung it on my wall and
used it as inspiration to get a scholarship and play in the NFL. Both dreams
came true. Thank you for your football memories and for what you are doing now.

Dear Joe:
It was great to meet you at the Ritz last week in
Puerto Rico. I am the fellow that bought your book out of my room on the fifth
floor. I read your book and thought it was excellent as I could very much
associate myself to the book since I had a full scholarship at Clarkson
University, (Clarkson Tech at the time), in New York State. Clarkson is one of
the top NCAA DIVISION 1 HOCKEY POWERS IN THE COUNTRY. I agree with you that the
politics in this level is quite widespread. I also agree that it takes a lot of
hard work and dedication to do well in both school and sports. I congratulate
you on this book and would recommend it to anyone looking to go into high level
College sports. It was sad that you had so much trouble due to the color of your
skin, but its also great that you were able to open doors for athletes after you
at Georgia Tech and in the NCAA. I also enjoyed reading the very last page on
secrets of success.
I wish you all the best and I hope to meet you again.
Regards,
Peter M******
PS-I would have loved to heard
more about why you moved around so much in your NFL career and how it felt to
play in such an important game like the SUPERBOWL!!!!! I am the guy who
lives in Hamilton, Canada Go Ti-Cats |
